The kids in my house are great at making sugar cookies, but not so great at waiting. That’s why this is one of my favorite sugar cookie recipes. Once the batter is made, it’s ready to roll out. There is no chill time required like most traditional recipes. The cookies don’t spread when baking and most importantly, they taste great. These cookies are perfect with my buttercream recipe.

No Chill Sugar Cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups all purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a mixer, cream butter and sugar until smooth
Add in the extracts and egg
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add to the wet mixture. Do not chill the dough.
Flour your work surface and divide dough into 2 workable batches. This dough works best rolled 1/4″ thick.
Bake for 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack when they’re firm enough to move.
